Workplace shooting leaves one dead, two injured

A laid-off employee in Michigan opened fire with a 12-guage shotgun on his former office and co-workers Monday, killing a woman and injuring the firm's two partners.

The office shooting occured in Troy at Gordon Advisors Accounting Firm, where employees reportedly barracaded themselves in their offices and hid during and after the shooting. Police officers on the scene removed the employees in small groups and transported them to a nearby building for safety.

The shooter has since been taken into custody, and is being held in jail without bail.
