Truck accident closes I-85

Early yesterday morning in Macon County, a fiery crash involving an 18-wheeler truck closed down the northbound lane of I-85. The truck crashed into a bridge, damaging it but fortunately not hurting the driver or anyone else.

The Alabama Department of Transportation said that emergency repairs are necessary to partially reopen the damaged bridge. Crews are working around the clock to have this problem solved as soon as possible to avoid difficulty during the holiday weekend.
