  A fatal car accident in Jackson County occurred Thursday at 7:51 a.m. Alabama State Troopers reported that the accident occurred on U.S. Highway 72 about one mile east of Gurley. A woman who as a passenger in a 1993 Nissan Altima was killed in the accident. The driver of the Altima was injured. The driver of the 1993 Chevrolet pick-up truck was not injured.
