Motorcycle Accidents Kills Prattville Man

A 37-year-old man from Prattville was killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunday. The man was a firefighter for Pelham. The accident happened on the interstate near Clanton.

The victim

was on a southbound entrance ramp to Interstate 65 when his motorcycle and a tractor trailer collided about 12:45 p.m. Sunday, said Pelham Fire Chief Gary Waters.

He was initially taken to Chilton County Medical Center and then airlifted to UAB Hospital, where he died at 3 a.m. Monday.

It is unknown what caused the accident and the police are still investigating. The victim was a Pelham firefighter for five years. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
