Motorcycle accident kills Andalusia man

The Andalusia Star-News reported a fatal motor vehicle accident Friday involving a motorcycle and a car early in the morning on U.S. Hwy. 84 near Sitel.

A woman driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala collided with a 1995 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by a man who died as a result of his injuries. The woman sustained injuries, but survived the crash. According to the article, the accident is still being investigated by State Troopers.

This tragic event is a reminder of the dangers on our nation's roadways, especially for motorcyclists during the busy summer months. All motorists, whether driving cars, trucks or motorcycles, should be even more careful and alert on the roads during the summer. More motorcyclists will no doubt be traveling on roadways during the nice weather of the summer.
