Fatal Florida motorcycle accident

A Florida Highway Patrol news release reported the tragic motorcycle accident death of a 30-year-old motorcyclist last Wednesday night in Manatee. The motorcycle collided with a pick-up truck making a left-hand turn on U.S. 41.

Apparently the driver of the truck did not see the two motorcycles approaching, and she was cited in the accident. Both motorcycles skidded and landed down the road, and both drivers of the motorcycles were wearing helmets. They were airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center, and one died after arriving.

This motorcycle accident brings Manatee County's motorcycle death toll to six, and the county's traffic accident death toll to 45 for 2006.
