A couple that had been married for 24 years was killed in a motorcycle accident on their way to Thanksgiving dinner with their family. They were hit by a car that failed to yield at a stop sign. The wife was killed at the scene and the husband died later at the hospital.

The couple was killed Thursday morning after a 2007 BMW failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the front of the Shiplees' Harley-Davidson motorcycle as it crossed an intersection in Gloucester County's Monroe Township, police said.

The motorcycle, according to police, was knocked 124 feet down the road.

Charges against the driver of the BMW will be filed. The police are still investigating the accident. They do not believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
