Train Injures Man in West Palm Beach

A car crossing the railroad tracks at Riverside Drive and Alternate A1A was hit by a FEC train on Saturday. The train accident happened in West Palm Beach. The 27-year-old driver of the car was injured in the accident.

The victim

was attempting to cross west over the tracks at about 3:20 a.m., in his silver 2001 four-door Audi when it was struck by a southbound FEC train.

He is listed in critical condition at St. Mary's Hospital. The police are investigating the accident. It is unknown if there is a gate at the crossing. The intersection was closed for three hours while the scen was cleaned and the the police conducted their investigation. No charges have been filed.
