Yesterday in northern Alabama a fatal train-truck accident occurred when a propane delivery truck collided with a train on Wilhite Road near exit 318 of I-65.

Apparently the truck crashed into the train after it ran off the road, igniting a tremendous fire and killing the driver of the tanker. The accident did not happen at the crossing. It is not known whether the crossing lights and gates were working properly at the time of the accident.

At least six people have already died this year in the state of Alabama as a result of train accidents.
