Traffic fatality in Lawrence County

The Times Daily reported a motor vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a Courtland man last Thursday. The one-car crash occurred on Lawrence 150 at about 11:30 p.m. when the car left the road and hit a tree.

Emergency personnel say that the 1996 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck hit the tree almost head-on, immediately killing the driver. The passenger, who was the driver's twin brother, was injured. State troopers say both men were wearing seatbelts. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
