An article from The Huntsville Times reported that an accident reconstruction team will recreate the tragic scene of the recent Huntsville school bus accident that killed four Lee High School students and injured dozens of others.

The private accident reconstruction team will close part of I-565 to work on creating computer simulations of the accident. The team was hired by a lawyer representing some of the victims' families, and plans to interview survivors, map the crash site and investigate all of the available information about the crash.

The article reports:

Families of most of the victims have hired lawyers for what is expected to be a lengthy legal fight over who's at fault and who should pay the expected millions of dollars in damages, medical bills and legal fees.

City Attorney Peter Joffrion said his office has made it clear to plaintiff lawyers they will have to pay for any traffic control provided by Huntsville police while their private accident firms investigate the scene. McDaniel said lawyers have agreed to pay $25 an hour per officer.

Final authorization for any lane closures would have to be granted by the Alabama Department of Transportation, said DOT division engineer Johnny Harris.
