Sadly, a one-car crash in Cloverdale early Saturday morning became the 55th motor-vehicle-related fatality in northwest Alabama and Tennessee's Lawrence and Wayne Counties this year.
The one-car accident occurred on Lauderdale 11 just north of Florence in the Cloverdale community. Though the accident's cause was not reported, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
This tragic accident also became the second fatality in the month of December.
