The Cullman Times reported a tragic two-car accident that resulted in the death of an 85-year-old man Sunday on Alabama Highway 157.

The victim was a passenger in a 1996 Plymouth, and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the vehicle was injured, and both were wearing seatbelts, according the the Alabama State Trooper reports. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Sunday's fatality brings this year's death toll from road accidents on area roadways to at least 11. Three people were killed in separate vehicle crashes May 12, according to reports.
