In a one-car accident early Sunday morning just north of Huntsville, a Madison county man driving across a bridge struck an abutment, causing his car to fall off the bridge and land at the river's edge.

The accident is yet another tragic incident involving a lone driver in a one-car crash. Alabama police are still investigating the cause of the crash. It is unknown weather or not alcohol was a factor in the accident.

One-car accidents often seem to happen late at night when the driver has been drinking or becomes drowsy and dozes off at the wheel. If at all possible, avoid driving alone at night, or be sure you are alert and driving on a well-lit roadway.
