Auburn Car Accident Injures Two

Two people were injured, one seriously, in a single-car accident in Auburn late Monday. The accident happened on Webster Road near an embankment. The car overturned and slid down the embankment.

The vehicle

had left the road while traveling between Pumphrey Avenue and Bellwood Place and struck a utility pole, according to Capt. Tom Stofer of the Auburn Police Division.

The driver of the car had to be airlifted to Columbus Regional Medical Center. His injuries were believed to be life-threatening. There was a passenger in the car that was also injured. That person was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The condition of the passenger is unknown. The car accident is being investigated and it is unknown why it occured.
