Alabama Highway 40 accident causes injuries

A one-car accident on Highway 40 Sunday left both the driver and passenger injured, according to a report from The Daily Sentinel.

The Alabama State Trooper investigating the accident said that the passenger, who was a child, was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital with critical injuries. The hospital reports that the boy is still being treated in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon and involved a 1986 Chevrolet. It is still being investigated by law enforcement.
